I am a PhD student at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy at University of Trnava, Slovakia. My main area of specialization is mostly Philosophy of Religion. I am currently leading courses on Philosophy of Mysticism and History of Religions. In my dissertation thesis I deal with the phenomenological research of mysticism, as a very particular kind of human experience, especially its traditional western line. Here I focus on two main complementary aspects of the mystical life – nearness and distance, in which strain, along with a complete dispossession of the possessor, the gifted may be born.
I attended the Phenomenology Research Center in September-2009 due to the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic. During this short but very rich time I was attending the Phenomenology Study Group led by Professor Anthony J. Steinbock as well as his Husserl/Derrida Seminar. I have also found great benefit and inspirations in personal consultations. I have just translated Steinbock’s article The Poor Phenomenon to Slovak language which is published in Ostium, a Slovak web journal for humanities.
