I am currently a PhD student at the philosophy department at SIUC. My current research focuses on moral epistemology and how phenomenology may contribute to the current discussion on moral facts, facticity and obligations. In my dissertation, supported with a Institute of International Education (IIE) – CAPES Brazilian Ministry of Education Exchange Program Fellowship, I’ll argue that a phenomenological inquiry into the issues of representation, presentation and protention offers  decisive insights for our constitution as political bodies – in short, I’ll deal with the question of memory and identity.

In the Phenomenology Research Center I am working on a Portuguese translation of Home and Beyond. Professor Nythamar de Oliveira, in Brazil, is also working on this project.
