“Pathways in the Phenomenology of Religion” Conference at SIU Carbondale, Nov. 18-19

We are happy to announce the conference “Pathways in the Phenomenology of Religion.”  It will take place at the Phenomenology Research Center (Faner Hall, room 2514) on November 18-19, 2013.  A PDF of the event poster may be downloaded here.

Monday, Nov. 18

9:00 – 10:30 Michael Staudigl (University of Vienna): “Rethinking Religion beyond Myth and Enlightenment – Reassessing the Role of Phenomenology in the Recent Philosophical Discourse on Religion”

10:45 – 12:15 Ludger Hagedorn (NYU Berlin): “Christianity Unthought – Thought by Patocka and Nancy”

2:00 – 3:30 James Hart (Indiana University): “The First Principles of Faith and Phenomenology”

3:45 – 5:15 John Maraldo (University of North Florida): “Heidegger’s Beiträge as a Phenomenology of Religion”

Tuesday, Nov. 19

9:00 – 11:00 Michael Staudigl: “Phenomenology of Violence”

1:00 – 2:30 Anthony Steinbock (SIU Carbondale): “Emotions and Social Imaginaries”
